The Nordic Kennel Union, NKU, consists of the national kennel clubs of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. We work closely together to find common solutions to important issues. For example, the Nordic dog show regulations, develop health programs and develop Nordic dog sport.
The secretariat of the NKU changes every three years. Iceland is currently running the NKU and will do so until the end of 2024.
The Nordic Kennel Union has created a shared dog show type, the Nordic Dog Show. The first shows were arranged in 2018. Take me to the show calendar >>
Although some of these breeds have only recently been recognized internationally, many of them have a long history. Get to know the 29 breeds >>
Physical exaggerations in dogs can give rise to health issues. To identify trends towards exaggerations before they give rise to problems, the NKU developed the Breed Specific Instructions, BSI. Learn more about the BSI >>
